League Rules
SOUTH OKANAGAN GOLF LEAGUE RULES AND SCORING
(Each player must read this at least once before first round out, thank you).

- Count each stroke on your scorecard up to a maximum of a triple bogey. (Designate one person to keep score). Once you have a triple bogey please pick up your ball to ensure that we keep up the pace of play.   (If you make any contact with the ball it is a stroke, if you take a swing at a ball and miss, it is a stroke as well).   (Be very honest with your score as scoring is a points system.   No Mulligans.   No Gimmes).   (There are draw prizes for all abilities so please do not worry).
- Play "ready golf" which means that if you are ready please go ahead and make your shot even if another player in your group is behind you looking for a ball. This will really speed things up.
- Take only 2 1/2 minutes maximum to look for a ball that appears lost. After looking you must take a penalty and shoot from the point where the ball was last seen by anyone in your group. This will be tough for some to follow but it is a must. Always take proper penalties too. If not sure, please ask.
- Ladies score the same as men but can play from ladies' tees if they like. (If above average or advanced lady golfer please play from intermediate tees).
- Men/above average and advanced lady players play from all intermediate tees or advanced tee position, player's choice.
- Please respect other members/players of each course by being a good sport. Please, no swearing loudly if you make a lousy shot.
- Look for the closest to the pin and longest drive holes if applicable.   (The last group to bring the results to the social venue).
- Turn in your group's scorecards to Nolan at the designated social venue.
- If you cannot make one of the days on the schedule you must contact Nolan as soon as possible to play a make-up round on the designated date.
- Any questions please see Nolan and have a good round and a fun time!

Scoring...

Top 3 and ties in overall scoring per course: 1 extra point. (Can only count on regular scheduled dates)
Par: 1 point
Birdie: 2 1/2 points
Eagle: 4 points
Double Eagle: 5 points
Ace: 6 points
Bogey: 1/2 point
Double Bogey: 0 points
Triple Bogey or worse: -1/2 point, (started in Fall, 2007)
Other ways to lose points: -1 point for taking more than 2 minutes to look for a lost ball on any hole. -1 point for each time this happens. (Scorekeeper to keep track, record on scorecard which hole(s) and report offense to Nolan), -1 point for playing more than 8 strokes. (Again, scorekeeper to keep track, record on scorecard etc. Once 8th stroke has been scored please pick up ball to avoid this from happening).   You can also lose points if not scoring fairly and if not taking proper penalties. This will be upon my discretion.
Just keep track of scoring as usual up to 8 strokes per hole, hand in scorecards and I will keep track of points.
